Episode #12: The Hollies
First broadcast January 15th, 2007 episode #12 of “Come To The Sunshine” features two very full hours of ’60s rarities, radio sessions, covers and aural ephemera from the one and only HOLLIES. Highlights include a January 1967 trip to the recording studio explaining how the band made their records; all the Clarke/Hicks/Nash written tracks from the Everly Brothers “Two Yanks In England” album in mono (it has only been on CD previously in stereo); tracks from Hollies protege’s such as the Societe and the Mirage; Covers from Keith, Episode Six, Dana Gillespie and the Piccadilly Line; even the rarest of the rare – a Hollies rip off track by the Klan called “Fifi The Fly” (stolen lock stock and barrel from the Hollies’ “Fifi The Flea”). Set your dial for Ransford/Gralto ’60s magic and “Try It” now.
